Written and Illustrated by Peter H. Reynolds, #10 on my list is The Dot. The beautiful children’s book is about a little girl who “can’t draw”. But, her encouraging art teacher believes in her, so much so that when the young girl creates one solitary dot on a page- her teacher asks her to sign it and it ends up in a frame above her desk! She realizes, hey, she can make a better dot than that, and she begins a journey of making bigger and better dots. It’s a gorgeously simple and concise children’s book, and I highly recommend it for EVERY library… especially for the teacher!
