Children’s book expert, Anita Silvey’s new book Everything I Need to Know I Learned in a Children’s Book is due out on October 13th and is definitely worth a read! Silvey interviewed over 100 people from athletes, actors, singers, business professionals and publishing insiders about what their favorite childhood book was and how it changed the way he/she looked at the world. We all have our favorites and I see it every day at the store, a grown man holding Richard Scarry’s Cars Trucks and Things that Go with that nostalgic look in his eye or a young woman clutching Don Freeman’s Corduroy overcome with memories. Silvey’s book is fascinating and would make the perfect gift for families and those nostalgic children’s book readers like myself!
